ACTive Parenting

ACTive Parenting is a co-created innovative new program facilitated by the Achievement Center in Erie, PA. In my role, I provide programmatic consultation as a primary therapist. The program consists of working with the parents over the course of 6-10 sessions  in order to better contact and understand their struggles parenting a child with emotional & mental health issues.

The purpose is to gather what from a parents perspective is most important to them in the course of parenting. Partnering with parents to identify key development/relational perspectives within the context of utilizing  Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), and PEAK Relational Training.

Interventions help identify features that are meaningful for their parent and child.  Helping parents embrace and understand elements of experiential avoidance, persistence due to ineffective rule following, fluency and flexibility as they move in and through the difficult landscape of parenting.

In the event that you would like to participate feel free to contact the Achievement Center directly as well: http://www.achievementctr.org
